Hiral Jhaveri is a Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant from Bauman College and a Certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor. Hiral’s passion is to help families and children make healthier food and lifestyle choices.

Raised in a traditional Indian family and fortunate to have traveled around the globe as a child, Hiral’s love for food, cooking and nutrition started young. She enjoys combining traditional cuisines with local ingredients to create nourishing recipes that are healing and flavorful.

Hiral’s approach to health is primarily centered on the Ayurvedic philosophy of “Saatvik Living” or balanced living for mind, body and soul. Food is seen as a carrier of the life force called “praana” and is judged by the effect it has on our consciousness. This concept of healthy eating and healthy living that existed thousands of years ago is fascinating, thought provoking, and remarkably relevant today!

Hiral became acutely aware of the value of pure food and a nourished lifestyle after the birth of her first child. She discovered that her daughter’s allergies could be controlled and treated through the right kind of food rather than steroids or strong medications that have toxic side effects. Since then she has delved deep in the world of nutrition, working with integrative doctors in both New York and the San Francisco Bay area. She strongly believes that, ‘Eating is not merely a physical act. What we eat, how we eat impacts us as human beings.’ She stands behind the motto, ‘We are what we eat and how we digest it.’ It is this philosophy that continues to guide her passion and her commitment to her clients.

When she is not busy creating nutrition protocols for her clients or teaching therapeutic cooking, Hiral can be found at the farmers market picking the best ingredient for her latest Ayurveda-inspired recipe. She lives in the Bay Area and can be contacted through her website www.purepraana.com
